650 | From A to LGBTQ

2017 has been an exciting year for storytelling. After stalking The Moth for two years, I finally got the nerve to put my name in the hat…. and I was picked! I told a 5-minute version of Crazy Joe, which was previously published in the Westchester Review. On June 4th, I signed up for a Pros(e) of Pie open mic at Muddy Water in Tarrytown.

This coming Sunday, June 11th, I am so fortunate to have been selected as a featured reader at the 650 | Writers Read (A to LGBTQ) event at Sarah Lawrence College.

The End of an Era

When I was a little girl, growing up in NYC, I didn’t think I was allowed in the Waldorf=Astoria. I believed that it was a place only for famous or important people. So you might imagine how surreal it was for me to work there during my career in catering and event planning from 1996-2003. This photo was taken in the Silver Corridor when I was there last week for what may have been my final visit before this grand dame closes at the end of February. Feeling ?
