I am a featured storyteller at Pros(e) of Pie – Friday, September 8th

I am a FEATURED STORYTELLER this Friday, September 8th with Pros(e) of Pie at the Hudson Valley Writer’s Center.
The theme is “This is Where I Lost It” and the title of my story (about losing my mom) is THE PHOTO I DON’T HAVE.
DATE: Friday, September 8th
TIME: doors open 7:30, show starts at 8
LOCATION: Hudson Valley Writers’ Center, which is AT Metro North’s Philipse Manor Train Station: 300 Riverside Dr, Sleepy Hollow,
NY 10591.
WHAT ABOUT PIE? People who attend sometimes sign up to bring homemade pie – if they do, they get in for free. Your pie will be served at the event – and, after the storytelling, people vote for their favorite pie. I know. FUN. RIGHT?

650 | From A to LGBTQ

2017 has been an exciting year for storytelling. After stalking The Moth for two years, I finally got the nerve to put my name in the hat…. and I was picked! I told a 5-minute version of Crazy Joe, which was previously published in the Westchester Review. On June 4th, I signed up for a Pros(e) of Pie open mic at Muddy Water in Tarrytown.

This coming Sunday, June 11th, I am so fortunate to have been selected as a featured reader at the 650 | Writers Read (A to LGBTQ) event at Sarah Lawrence College.

Daffodils and Mimosas

I took this photo tonight at 11:00 pm, in my kitchen, just after a long hard month of staging our house in preparation for a photo shoot and listing it for sale. For me, it captures the darkness and the light of my emotions at this very moment.
